Clever chair mats with spiky bottoms
These hard-wearing mats will happily sit under your office chair, protecting the carpet from the wear and tear associated with the constant shuffling of office chair wheels. We've all seen those shiny circles left behind on the carpet when there's an office move-around. What makes these mats different from a standard rug, is of course, these chair mats aren't furry and luxurious between your toes. But that's OK as they're not intended for use with bare feet. They have a strong, smooth top surface and they do have spikes on the bottom which allows them to grip the carpet, keeping them in place; think of it as working like a large, flat golf shoe to help you avoid ending up in a bunker.
As well as a selection of size options, further options are provided by the choice of whether a flat square chair mat or a chair mat with a slight lip around the edge is your preferred option. The mats with small lips make it harder for people to inadvertently roll off of it on their chairs onto the unprotected flooring beneath, so helping to protecting the area around your chair mat as well as the flooring directly beneath. Another benefit of a chair mat is that it helps make your operator chair on wheels easier to move. This in turn helps to prevent unnecessary twisting and stretching, which can, over time, lead to repetitive strain injuries. There's a choice of two materials that your mat can be made from. PET, or polyester terephthalate, is made from 100% recycled materials and what's more can be recycled when it comes to the end of its life living underneath your chair. PC, or polycarbonate mats are super-strong and designed for high-impact use. Both are available in the same sizes, with or without a retaining lip.
